The Doric Peplos
This isn't a terribly interesting post, just one to document my Peplos.
For an Ancient History project, in my freshman year, I researched and created a Doric Peplos. It was a fairly simple design. I took 4 yards of white medium weight linen and sewed it into a tube using a french seam. I then draped it on myself playing with the length until I was happy with the look. I sewed two metal buttons to simulate a Fibula and added a green belt of linen.
(I forgot to check my Peplos and it slipped back when I walked. Ideally the front would be farther forward)
I later took it apart and used the linen in a 1770s petticoat and stays.
